How Next-Generation Philanthropists Can Transform Mental Health Funding Report 2021
Our mission is to transform the lives of vulnerable people, using the creative power of dramatherapy to enhance mental health. Our work is professional, effective, creative, empowering, supportive, inclusive, and authentic.
For the last 36 years Roundabout has been working collaboratively to support the mental health individuals of all ages across London and neighbouring boroughs.
How we help
Our Sessions
We run dramatherapy sessions in the community, wherever clients spend their days e.g. in schools, nurseries, day centres and care homes.
97% increase in peer interaction
Working with parents, carers, teachers, care home staff, nursery staff and other professionals, involved in our clients lives, ensures we can support our clients in the best possible way. We work one to one or with groups, whichever suits our clients needs best.
88% improved communication skills
Our Research
Roundabout has a long history of involvement in ground breaking research in the field of dramatherapy. We are committed to ongoing involvement in original research such as our Shine a Light on Autism project as well as joining with other arts therapists to build a body of evidence based practice.
Sharing the evidence
Access to information about what dramatherapy is and how it can support different groups of people is vital. Roundabout regularly documents its work and publishes it via the Roundabout website, through articles in journals and through a series of books, the latest being ‘Child Agency and Voice in Therapy: New Ways of Working in The Arts Therapies’ Routledge 2021.
Raising Awareness
For 36 years Roundabout has been committed to raising awareness of dramatherapy. Our team love to talk about their work and to gather feed-back from service users. On a larger scale, our team present at conferences, attend community and special interest groups, contribute to online forums in order to share information and promote dramatherapy within the community.
